H. L. Gannt, pursued the profession of mechanical engineer and management consultant. Mr. Gannt is most familiar for producing his self-named easily-viewed scheduling and management chart. Gannt charts are drawn to reveal projected and real project progress. A commonly accepted project management instrument these days, it was a modernization of international importance back then, founded on H. L. Gannt's work while ship building during WWI. Gannt charts were used to project and control projects for construction on a massive scale such as the US interstate highway network in 1956 and the Hoover Dam started in 1931.
